December in NYC

NEW YORK, NY - This city is many things, so many in fact that if you're looking for something, it's probably here. The accessibility caters to all walks of life and all professions. Walking the streets you get a sense of what it would be like to be a bee living in a hive. In three days time I have seen everything from heroin addicts slumped over in the corner of a subway car, to street fights, to police with batons ready to drag off protesters. The best moments thus far have been seeing the graffiti scrawled across the walls of the city and the musicians filling the stench ridden air of the subways with beautiful sounds.

It is great to be in New York during a time of protest when people are openly exercising their rights by protesting the recent atrocities of the 43 students killed in Mexico, Mike Brown's murder, as well as the choking death-by-cop of Staten Island resident Eric Garner. This city definitely emanates one great life lesson; you are defined by your actions, so act wisely.
