10,000 CHIEFS UNDER THE SEA are premiering the release of their new record exclusively here on Urban Circus. Lead by front man Grayson Paul Creely on vocals and guitar, the lineup is rounded out by Eddie Garcia on drums and Allan Garcia on bass. Creely states that the goal of the band is, "to explore new harmonic and melodic possibilities". 10,000 Chiefs maintain a thunderous sound for an outfit of three. Influenced by jazz, progressive rock, and psychedelia, the group is not easily defined by one genre or sound. The approach in the writing is from a spiritual perspective, allowing for the writer's wide array of influences to shine through gloriously at different times throughout the record.
"I" (Roman numeral for one) is an album that takes the listener on a journey from a true singer/songwriter point of view telling the story of one's spiritual journey from beginning to end. Don't think the end is anywhere in sight though because this first album is one installment in a body of work that will amount to five EP's. "I" moves seamlessly through different moods and tempos and is a crazy time-signature bending marathon that leaves you interested every second all the way to the end of the record.
Be on the lookout for 10,000 Chiefs Under the Sea as Creely and the Garcia brothers head out on a regional tour this month to promote the record. The album is available on 10000chiefs.com as well as iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and other digital platforms.
